German High Level Political Forum Conferences

“The aim of the design was to create a fresh and lively atmosphere for the conferences.”

Task

Where does Germany stand in implementing the 17 Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda? The studio was commissioned to design the key visual and other communication materials for the “German HLPF Conferences” series of events at which experts exchange views on this question. The studio took on all design tasks for four consecutive conferences. In addition, a logo was developed for the project organising the conference. At the centre of the key visual are the icons of the 17 goals developed by the United Nations. A colour gradient in the background creates a fresh and lively atmosphere reminiscent of spring and water. The 17 colours of the SDGs are integrated in a colour circle in the letter “O” of the event title and also appear as a narrow strip above the area with the colour gradient. Some icons are highlighted, with the corresponding goals taking centre stage during the conference.

Context

The conference series brings together representatives from politics, civil society, business and science to discuss key messages for the United Nations High Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development. The first conference took place on two stages at the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development and was attended by Federal Development Minister Gerd Müller and Federal Environment Minister Svenja Schulze. In subsequent years, the event was held virtually.
