The Judicial Integrity Group

“The design of the website is deliberately kept simple so that experts can concentrate fully on the extensive text material.”

Task

The studio was commissioned to redesign the logo and to conceive, design and implement the website for the Judicial Integrity Group. The design of the website is deliberately kept simple. The aim was to provide the public with access to the group's extensive collection of texts and to structure the navigation so that information can be found quickly and intuitively. Accordion menus were used for this purpose – clickable areas that open or close content as required, so that clarity is maintained despite detailed information. Pictograms also support orientation. The website's colour scheme is restrained and corresponds with the serious content. Dark blue characterises the logo and headlines, while a warm brown serves as an accent colour for quotes, pictograms and links. The texts are in grey. White and light grey are used as background colours. The overall effect is a calm and professional appearance.

Typographically, modern, easy-to-read fonts were used to support the focus of the site – the texts. Images are used selectively and sparingly. The website was implemented as a content management system and optimised for use on various end devices.
Inria Serif, a modern, humanist serif font published by Black Foundry in 2017, was used for the redesigned logo. It emphasises the serious and contemporary character of the Judicial Integrity Group.
