The Metropol

The Metropol

“The design of the magazine was to be elegant, classic and restrained – without frills, bright colours or eye-catching elements. Following the principle of 'less is more', a modern layout with large-format images and restrained typography was developed.”

Task

For the launch of the new magazine “Der Metropol”, the studio was responsible for the design of the first two issues. The magazine was to be published four times a year with 24 pages and a print run of up to 10,000 copies. High-quality paper and a refined cover with glossy effects and matt foil emphasise the magazine's claim.
In terms of content, the magazine focused on foreign property investors and property investments in Berlin and was aimed specifically at wealthy international buyers. In addition to photo series and interviews, there were reports on topics such as luxury, investors and first-class addresses in Berlin.

The first issue was dedicated to Chinese buyers of Berlin property, while the second issue focused on investors from the Middle East.

Context

Zabel Property GmbH specialised in advising international clients on the acquisition of high-end condominiums in Berlin. In order to expand this exclusive clientele, the company planned to publish a free magazine in German and English. After publishing two editions, the project was cancelled due to the merger of Zabel Property with Jones Lang LaSalle.
